Martina George Mwailus is a visionary entrepreneur, corporate strategist, and certified financial expert with over 7 years of cross-functional experience steering business development and high-impact project operations in East Africa. As the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Uru Research and Development Group , Martina sits at the intersection of strategic research, financial analytics, and commercial scaling. An analytical powerhouse, her career includes transforming corporate financial structures as a Business Analyst at Poyongo Group Limited (2020–2023) and coordinating complex, multi-stakeholder international events for the global Foundation for the National Institutes of Health (FNIH) . Martina holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) and a BBA from the Tanzania Institute of Accountancy (TIA). Operating fluently in English and Swahili, with a professional working command of French, her dual expertise as a corporate executive and a CPAT positions her as an elite asset capable of bridging local market execution with strict international financial standards.
Daniel Maeda (PhD)
Daniel Maeda’s journey is a testament to his unwavering commitment to excellence and a profound exploration of the sciences. His educational odyssey culminated in the attainment of a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Regenerative Sciences from Medizinische HochschuleHannover, Germany. Prior to embarking on his doctoral pursuits, Dr. Maeda earned Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Molecular and Cellural Biology from Heidelberg University in Germany. The inception of Dr. Maeda’s academic voyage took place at the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM), where he secured Bachelor of science (B.Sc.) with honors in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. Dr. Maeda’s extensive experience extends to the academic realm, where he has been serving as coordinator for innovation and entrepreneurship and a lecturer at the University of Dar es Salaam since March 2013. With over a decade of experience as a lecturer, he has been actively involved in teaching a range of subjects in molecular biology, methods in molecular biology, molecular cell biology, molecular development biology, pharmaceutical biotechnology and virology and microbial genetics. He has demonstrated leadership by supervising undergraduate, master’s and PhD students, contributing significantly to curriculum development and mentoring junior staff in molecular biology and biotechnology. Dr. Maeda is a highly accomplished professional with a wealth experience spanning various domains, including biotechnology, regulatory affair s and education.
Dr. Elizabeth Johnson Maeda (PhD)
Dr. Elizabeth Johnson Maeda is an eminent agricultural researcher, development expert, and strategist with over 30 years of transformative leadership across Tanzania and Sub-Saharan Africa. Currently serving as the Agricultural Specialist at Uru Research and Development Group , Dr. Maeda bridges scientific research, public policy, and commercial agriculture to empower smallholder farmers and foster sustainable food systems. Her distinguished career includes pivotal roles at USAID and Tanzania’s National Agricultural Research Institute, alongside leading multi-million dollar initiatives funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, World Bank, ACIAR, and AGRA . Educated in the US (Ph.D., Univ. of Fayetteville), UK (M.Sc., Univ. of Aberystwyth), and Tanzania (B.Sc., UDSM), Dr. Maeda is a published authority in plant pathology, climate resilience, and gender-inclusive agricultural development, renowned for translating high-level research into actionable market solutions.

Christopher Edward Mwinuka ( PEng 4310) is a registered Professional Engineer and Mineral Processing Specialist with over 15 years of high-impact leadership across base metals, gold, and copper recovery. Holding a B.Sc. in Mineral Processing Engineering from the University of Dar es Salaam, Christopher excels in capital project management, plant commissioning, and environmental sustainability—specifically in Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) construction. His technical mastery spans process simulation, advanced ore testing, and full-scale plant management. Renowned for bridging cutting-edge engineering design with operational excellence, Christopher consistently delivers bankable project execution and compliant, cost-effective mining operations.
Kelvin Lazaro Shitindi
Eng. Kelvin Lazaro Shitindi is a qualified Water Resources and Irrigation Engineer and Senior Laboratory Technologist with over 15 years of technical expertise at theÂ
University of Dar es Salaam (since 2011). Holding a Degree in Water Resources and Irrigation Engineering from the Water Institute (Dar es Salaam), Kelvin uniquelycombines advanced engineering solutions with deep experience in laboratory management, quality control, and scientific research. Currently serving as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Uru Research and Development Group alongside her role as Chief External Auditor at the National Audit Office of Tanzania (NAOT), she bridges high-level corporate financial governance with public accountability. Holding an MBA in Finance from the University of Dar es Salaam and a CPA (T) certification,Josephine excels in spearheading complex financial operations, IPSAS/IFRS compliance, risk assessment, and preparing strategic briefs for Parliamentary Oversight Committees. Recognized for her unyielding integrity and dynamic leadership, she drives fiscal sustainability, institutional accountability, and bankable financial growth for international partnerships.
Juma Mahmud Hussein is accomplished and results-driven biosciences leader with over a decade of progressive experience in academic leadership, research management, and institutional development. Currently serving as Head of Department at the University of Dar es Salaam, where I provide strategic direction, lead multidisciplinary teams, and drive excellence in research, innovation, and training. I possess strong executive capacity in biotechnology, with proven expertise in biodiversity, and large-scale data systems, alongside a solid track record of securing competitive funding, intellectual property rights, delivering high-impact scientific outputs, and building sustainable international partnerships. Recognized for impactful leadership in capacity building and organizational strengthening, I have mentored and supervised over 40 undergraduate, MSc, and PhD scientists while advancing institutional frameworks in quality assurance, postgraduate training, and research governance. A strategic thinker with excellent administrative, stakeholder engagement, and program coordination skills.
